On Friday 12 October, Mr Justice Grazio Mercieca made the customary inaugural speech at a special court session held in the Courts of Justice building in Valletta. Addressing a packed courtroom, he outlined his vision for an efficient and expeditious disposal of cases through effective case-management, and indicated that he intends to cut down on the time it takes to hear a case and to deliver judgment, while at the same time ensuring that the parties receive a fair hearing and that the quality of the judgments does not suffer. The full text of the speech is available (in Maltese) here.
